Disassemble Guitar; it would be a good idea to check if its still under warranty first
First my spring broke, after I used the short piece of spring the tab it attaches to broke off.
I used a piece of fabric elastic.
This is the wammy with its keeper removed

don't forget to put the strap peg back in before installing the screws
this is where the different length screws go.
The resulting fix feels a little different. The wammy gets stiffer the farther it is pushed down.
